Dr Downs is lead clinician of the Dermatology department at the hospital and has been a consultant since 2000. Dr Downs is Director of the South West Laser Unit, Honorary teaching associate for University of Wales, he is also a teacher and examiner for the International Diploma of Dermatology. Dr Downs is an honorary research associate at the University of Bristol with over 90 peer reviewed publications. His special interests include melanoma, lasers and skin parasites

Dr Bower trained at Edinburgh University and qualified with a BSc Pharmacology in 1990 and MB ChB in 1992. He completed medical post-graduate training in Nottingham (MRCP 1995) and plastic surgery attachment in Brisbane. He has also completed Dermatology SpR training in Bristol. Dr Bower has been consultant dermatologist at RD&E Hospital, Exeter since 2001 (FRCP 2005) and has a special interest in non-melanoma skin cancer, skin surgery and medical education (PGCME 2004).
Dr Rino Cerio is Consultant Dermatologist and Professor in Dermatopathology at Bart’s and the London NHS Trust and Queen Mary’s University of London. His contributions to medical literature include over 150 peer-reviewed publications, 5 books and 12 chapters including "Skin Histopathology" in the 6th and 7th editions of the "ROOK" book. He has made major contributions to the recently published World Health Organisation classification text on Skin Tumours. As well as dermatologicaol oncology, his interests also include immunopathology and management of moderate to severe psoriasis. He was chairman of the R & D committee of the Psoriasis Association for 5 years. For nearly 20 years he has continued to contribute to national and international dermatology and dermatopathology meetings, several more recently he has both organised and asked to be an invited speaker. He was chairman of the North Thames SpR training committee and remains examiner for the University of London, examiner for the Royal College of Pathologists and International Committee of Dermatopathology. He was past chairman of the BSD and ex President of the European Society for Dermatopathology.
Dr Edward Seaton is Locum Consultant Dermatologist at the Royal Free Hospital. He previously completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at Hammersmith Hospital Campus, Imperial College examining the use of laser tharapy in acne vulgaris. He has been a PasTest Lecturer for 5 years and teaches regularly on MRCP parts 1 and 2 and the MRCPCH.
Born in SW Scotland. Graduate of University of Glasgow. After house jobs, joined the British army spending 2 years in Germany in primary care and 4 years in hospital medicine in the UK, obtaining MRCP in 1982. Worked in Dermatology in Bristol and Weston for 12 years as Clinical Assistant before obtaining training post. CCST in 2004 and consultant in Weston-super-Mare since then. Main professional interests in skin disease in the elderly and vulval dermatology. Currently chair of Senior Skin Group and Lead Clinician for Cancer for the Weston Area Health Trust. Main extracurricular activities Scottish country dancing, gardening and hill walking.
Mike Ardern-Jones qualified from St Bartholomew's Medical College, University of London. He trained in general medicine and dermatology in London and Oxford and with the award of a Wellcome Trust Research Training Fellowship carried out his DPhil(PhD) at Christ Church College, University of Oxford. He was appointed to the University of Southampton and Southampton NHS Trust to complement the current research interest in immune responses in the skin. His current clinical practice encompasses general dermatology with a specific interest in the immunology of skin disease including eczema and skin allergy.
I was appointed to Surrey and Sussex in 1998 as consultant dermatologist and mohs surgeon. My clinical interests include skin cancer and its management I was appointed network chair for skin cancer for surrey/sussex and Hampshire and represent the Chair nationally on the UKSCWP. I also have an interest in education and was appointed sub-dean in 2006 - BSMS is one of the new medical schools with a novel curriculum focusing on early clinical exposure. I enjoy teaching local Gps and had devised a GPwSI year training programme as well as undertaking monthly teaching sessions and monthly skin clubs.
Jennifer graduated from Glasgow University in 1983. She trained at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and St Mary’s Hospital, London. She has been a consultant at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital since 1996. Jennifer was awarded her MD in 1999 for her research on dermatitis herpetiformis. Jennifer’s main interests are skin cancer, dermatological surgery and phototherapy. Jennifer is the Chair of Anglia Cancer Network (East) for skin cancer.
